How can we help you?

Find answers to common questions, learn how EncryptSecret works, or reach out directly if something isn't right.

EncryptSecret cannot recover deleted notes. Once a note is read or its expiry time passes, it is permanently deleted from the database, by design. There is no way to get it back.

How to use EncryptSecret
01

Write your secret message

On the home page, type anything you want to share privately, a password, a personal note, sensitive info. Only the person you send the link to will ever see it.

02

Set your options

Choose how long the note lives (1 hour to 7 days), whether it burns after one read or allows multiple views, and optionally protect it with a password.

03

Copy and share the link

After creating the note you'll get a unique link. Send it to your recipient over WhatsApp, email, Telegram or any platform you like.

04

Recipient opens the link

When they open it, EncryptSecret decrypts the message directly in their browser. If burn-after-reading is on, the note is deleted from the database the moment they view it.

05

Note is gone forever

After the note is read or expires, it is permanently deleted. Anyone trying to open the same link again will find nothing, because nothing remains.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Your message is encrypted using AES-256-GCM, the same standard used by banks and governments. Encryption happens entirely in your browser before anything is sent to the server, so even the database only stores encrypted gibberish. Nobody can read your message except the person with the link.
No. The decryption key is embedded in the link itself and is never sent to the server. The server only receives encrypted data, there is literally nothing to read on our end.
It means the note is permanently deleted from the database the instant the recipient opens and decrypts it. If anyone tries to open the same link again, they'll get a "note not found" message, because it no longer exists.
This happens when one of the following occurred:

• The note was already read (burn-after-reading deleted it)
• The note reached its expiry time and was automatically deleted
• The max number of views was reached
• The link was copied incorrectly

Deleted notes cannot be recovered. The sender will need to create a new one.
There is no password recovery. The password is part of the encryption key as another security layer optional probided by you, without the correct password the note cannot be decrypted. Ask the sender to share the password through a separate secure channel (like a phone call).
You can choose from 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days when creating a note. After that time the note is automatically deleted, even if nobody has read it.
EncryptSecret is completely free and enforces a limit of 5 notes per IP address per day to prevent abuse and keep the service available for everyone. If you genuinely need more, reach out to Isaiah directly.
Yes. EncryptSecret is fully responsive and works on any modern mobile browser. If you run into a problem on a specific device, please report it using the contact options below.
A reference to your IP is stored only for rate-limiting (the 5 notes/day limit). It is not logged, sold, or shared. No personal data is collected beyond what is necessary to make the app function.
